Timmy’s Monday Adventure

It was a beautiful morning in Safari Forest. Timmy had been practicing a Bible verse to share with his friends.

But when he saw everyone waiting, a thought popped into his mind.

What if I forget the words? What if everyone laughs?

Timmy's ears drooped. “Maybe I shouldn't do this,” he whispered.

Ms. Rose noticed him standing alone.

“What's wrong, Timmy?”

“I'm having thoughts that I can't do it.”

Ms. Rose opened her Bible. “Timmy, just because a thought comes doesn't mean you have to agree with it. Let's see what God says.”

She read 2 Timothy 1:7.

Timmy lifted his head. “God didn't give me fear. He gave me power, love, and a sound mind!”

“That's right!” Ms. Rose smiled. “When thoughts don't agree with God's Word, you don't have to receive them as truth.”

Timmy took a deep breath and walked toward his friends.

Sophie grinned. “Well, look who's ready to preach!” 🐯

Timmy giggled. Then he proudly shared his verse.

He stumbled over a word, but he kept going.

That day, Timmy learned something important.

Just because a thought comes doesn't mean he has to believe it. God's Word is the truth he can stand on!

Let's Grow

Not every thought that enters our minds agrees with God's Word. Sometimes thoughts come that tell us we can't do something or that we should be afraid. But 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God has given us power, love, and a sound mind. We can examine our thoughts, compare them with Scripture, and choose to believe what God says. A thought may come, but we don't have to receive it as truth or allow it to direct our decisions.

Think About It

When a thought says, “I can't do this,” what does God's Word say?

Finish this sentence:

“God has given me __________, __________, and a __________ __________.”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You that You have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Holy Spirit, help me recognize thoughts that don't agree with Your truth. Teach me to believe what You say instead of allowing fear to make decisions for me. Help me stand confidently on Your promises. In Jesus' name, amen.

Kingdom Kids Declaration

I receive knowledge. I do not reject it or turn away from it. My heart is open to receive. My mind is ready to be renewed. Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me apply it to my life. Amen.
