When something scares you

Daniel 6; Psalm 56:3

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

Ian heard a loud noise in the Safari Forest, and the more he thought about it, the bigger his fear grew. Ms. Rose reminded him how Daniel kept praying, even in the lions' den, and God kept him safe.

A humble heart

Philippians 2:3–8; James 4:6

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Thankful on rainy days

Exodus 16; 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Timmy was stuck inside for days and kept complaining about the rain. Ms. Rose told how God fed His people in the wilderness every single day, even while they grumbled. Timmy chose to be thankful, and found a game to play with his sister.

Talk · Pray · Do

The battle is the Lord's

1 Samuel 17; Joshua 1:9

“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Elk the zebra was scared of a bully at the waterhole. Ms. Rose told the friends how young David faced the giant Goliath, not with armor, but trusting that God was with him.

Talk · Pray · Do
Talk
What 'giant' feels too big for you right now? What did David remember that helped him be brave? When is it right to ask a grown-up for help?
Pray
God, You are bigger than any giant. Help me be brave and trust You. Amen.
Do
Find five smooth stones together. Write one way God has helped your family on each.

Sharing what God gives

1 Samuel 30:1–25

“But David found strength in the Lord his God.”

Elk was upset that Ian and Sophie decorated the clubhouse they didn't help build. Ms. Rose told how David shared the victory with tired men who stayed behind, because the Lord gave it. Elk said sorry, and his friends forgave him.

Two are better than one

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

“If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”

Bleu is always cheering everyone else on, but sometimes she forgets she needs encouragement too. Good friends help each other up, and they let others help them.

Talk · Pray · Do

Pray
Thank You, God, for my friends and family. Help me encourage others, and let them encourage me. Amen.

Luke 24:1–8; John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…”

Early on Sunday morning, the women found the stone rolled away. The angels said, "He is not here; He has risen!" Because Jesus is alive, we can be forgiven and live with Him forever.
