Timmy’s Monday Adventure

Timmy walked slowly along the Safari Forest trail.

Usually, he loved exploring. He liked hearing the birds sing high in the trees and watching the leaves dance when the wind blew through them.

But today, Timmy kept looking behind him.

The trail ahead looked different than he remembered.

“Hmm…” Timmy whispered. “I thought I knew where I was going.”

He looked to the right. Then to the left. For just a moment, Timmy felt all alone.

Then he remembered something he had learned: Jesus was with him.

Timmy put his little elephant foot down firmly.

“I may not know exactly where this trail is going,” he said, “but I know I am not walking it alone.”

Timmy smiled and continued down the path.

The trail hadn't changed. Timmy still didn't know exactly what was ahead. But Timmy remembered Who was with him.

Let's Grow

Sometimes we feel like Timmy. Maybe you're walking into a new classroom. Maybe you're trying something you've never done before. Maybe you're lying in bed at night and something makes you nervous. You might not always know what is going to happen next. But Jesus makes us a promise: He is with us. Being brave doesn't mean we never feel afraid. We can feel afraid and still remember the truth: Jesus is with me.

Think About It

What is something that sometimes makes you feel afraid or unsure? Now think about the truth you learned today. You don't have to face it alone. Jesus is with you.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for being with me everywhere I go. When I feel afraid or don't know what will happen next, help me remember that I am never alone. Help me trust You and keep walking with You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Kingdom Kids Declaration

I receive knowledge. I do not reject it or turn away from it. My heart is open to receive. My mind is ready to be renewed. Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me apply it to my life. Amen.

Now Let's Apply It!

Same story, same truth. Find your level.

  • Little Explorers

    Preschool–Kindergarten

Draw a picture of yourself somewhere you sometimes feel afraid or unsure. Add a heart beside yourself to remind you: “Jesus is with me!” Have a grown-up help you say it three times.

  • Trail Adventurers

    Grades 1–2

Write or draw one thing that sometimes makes you nervous. Underneath it, write: “I am not alone. Jesus is with me.” Put it somewhere you can see it today.

  • Expedition Adventurers

    Grades 3–5

Identify a current worry. Write: “What am I afraid might happen?” Then write: “What truth did I learn today? — Jesus is with me.” When that worry comes back, practice replacing the fearful thought with God's truth.
