Week 1: Jesus Is With Me

Day 2 · Tuesday with Ian

Jesus is with me even when I can't see what He's doing.

Book connection: Fear Not

Scripture

“Do not fear, for I am with you.”
Isaiah 41:10

Ian’s Tuesday Adventure

Ian stretched his long neck as high as he could. “Maybe I can see it from up here,” he said.

He looked over the bushes. Nothing. He looked between the trees. Still nothing.

Ian and Timmy were supposed to meet Sophie near Lion's Rock, but Ian couldn't see her anywhere.

“What if we're going the wrong way?” Ian asked.

Timmy looked at his friend. “Are you getting worried?”

Ian shuffled his feet. “Maybe a little.”

Then Ian remembered what they had been learning. Jesus promised to be with them.

Ian couldn't see Sophie. He couldn't see where the trail ended. And he certainly couldn't see Jesus standing beside him.

But not being able to see Jesus didn't mean Jesus wasn't there.

Ian took another step. Then another.

“I don't have to see everything,” Ian said. “I just need to remember that Jesus is with me.”

Timmy smiled. Together, they kept walking.

Let's Grow

Have you ever wondered where Jesus is because you couldn't see Him? We can't see Jesus with our eyes the way we see our family or friends, but His promise is still true. Jesus is with us. Sometimes we want to know everything that's going to happen before we take the next step. But growing with God means learning to trust what He says, even when we can't see everything yet.

Think About It

Is there something happening in your life right now that you don't completely understand? You don't have to have every answer. You can trust the One who is with you. Jesus is with me even when I can't see what He's doing.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You that I don't have to see You to know You are with me. When I don't understand what is happening or what comes next, help me trust Your Word. Remind me that You are near and that I can keep walking with You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Kingdom Kids Declaration

I receive knowledge. I do not reject it or turn away from it. My heart is open to receive. My mind is ready to be renewed. Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me apply it to my life. Amen.

Now Let's Apply It!

Same story, same truth. Find your level.

  • Little Explorers

    Preschool–Kindergarten

Close your eyes. Can you still hear sounds around you even though you can't see them? Open your eyes and say: “I can't see Jesus, but I know He is with me!”

  • Trail Adventurers

    Grades 1–2

Think of something you don't know the answer to yet. Complete: “I don't know ______ yet, but I know Jesus is with me.” Say it aloud.

  • Expedition Adventurers

    Grades 3–5

Identify a situation where you've been trying to figure everything out before trusting God. Make two columns: “What I DON'T Know” and “What I DO Know.” Start the DO KNOW side with “Jesus is with me,” then add another applicable truth from God's Word.
