Week 1: Jesus Is With Me

Day 4 · Thursday with Bleu

Jesus is with me wherever I go.

Book connection: Fear Not

Scripture

“Do not fear, for I am with you.”
Isaiah 41:10

Bleu’s Thursday Adventure

Bleu fluttered through Safari Forest looking for her friends. She zipped past the tall trees, floated over the flowers, and circled around Lion's Rock.

“Timmy?” she called. No Timmy. “Ian? Sophie?” No answer.

Bleu landed on a leaf. “Well,” she said, “I guess it's just me today.”

Then Bleu stopped herself. “Wait a minute! It's not just me.” She smiled. Jesus was with her.

Bleu fluttered off the leaf. “Jesus is with me when I'm with Timmy. He's with me when I'm with all my friends. And He's with me when I'm by myself!”

As Bleu continued through Safari Forest, she thought about all the places she went each day: near the river, through the flowers, past Lion's Rock, back home.

Bleu giggled. “That's a lot of places for Jesus to be with me!”

Then she realized something even better. She didn't have to find Jesus at each new place. Jesus was already with her wherever she went.

Let's Grow

Sometimes we think about Jesus mostly at church, when we're praying, or when something scary happens. But Jesus isn't only with us during “Jesus time.” He's with us in the ordinary parts of our day too: playing, learning, riding in the car, eating dinner, with friends, and by ourselves. You don't have to go looking for Jesus every time you go somewhere new. Jesus is with you wherever you go. Because He's with you, you can learn to notice Him and talk to Him throughout your day.

Think About It

Think about everywhere you will go today. Where could you stop and remember: “Jesus is here with me too”?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for being with me everywhere I go. Help me remember You throughout my whole day—not only when I'm afraid or when I need something. Holy Spirit, help me notice God's presence and remember that I can talk to Jesus anytime and anywhere. In Jesus' name, amen.

Kingdom Kids Declaration

I receive knowledge. I do not reject it or turn away from it. My heart is open to receive. My mind is ready to be renewed. Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me apply it to my life. Amen.

Now Let's Apply It!

Same story, same truth. Find your level.

  • Little Explorers

    Preschool–Kindergarten

With a grown-up, name three places you go. After each place say, “Jesus is with me there!” Then name one more place.

  • Trail Adventurers

    Grades 1–2

List five places you normally go during your week. Beside each write, “Jesus is with me.” Choose one as your Jesus Reminder Spot. Each time you're there this week say, “Jesus, thank You for being here with me.”

  • Expedition Adventurers

    Grades 3–5

Think through a normal day. Ask: “When do I remember Jesus most? When do I tend to forget about Him?” Choose one ordinary part of your day and intentionally invite Jesus into your thoughts. The challenge is not only to know Jesus is with you, but to live like you know He is.
