Week 2: I Don't Have to Be Afraid

Day 12 · Friday with Ms. Rose

When fear speaks, I can answer with God’s Word.

Book connection: Fear Not

Scripture

“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.”
Psalm 56:3

Friday at Safari Forest with Ms. Rose

The Kingdom Kids gathered around Ms. Rose and reviewed the week: Timmy could feel fear and still trust Jesus; Ian didn't have to believe every scary “what if”; Sophie learned fear was not her leader; Bleu learned to speak God's truth.

Ms. Rose wrote: FEAR SAYS... and asked for examples: “What if something bad happens?” “You can't do it!” “You're all alone.” “Nobody loves you.”

Then she wrote: GOD SAYS...

Ms. Rose held up her hand. “But Kingdom Kids, there is something very important I want you to understand.”

She wrote: LIE: Nobody loves me.

“Could I answer that by saying, ‘God is with me’?”

Timmy thought. “That's true.”

“It absolutely is,” Ms. Rose said. “But did it answer the lie?”

The Kingdom Kids shook their heads. “No.”

Ms. Rose wrote: TRUTH: “We love, because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

“Now did God's Word answer what the lie was saying?”

“YES!”

Ms. Rose smiled. “Kingdom Kids don't throw random Bible verses at thoughts. We learn what God's Word says so we can answer correctly.”

She pointed to her heart: “We receive it.” To her head: “We allow it to renew our minds.” To her mouth: “We speak His truth.” Then she stretched out her hands: “And we apply it to the way we live.”

Timmy smiled. “Receive it. Renew my mind. Speak it. Live it.”

Ms. Rose nodded. “That's how Kingdom Kids grow with God.”

Let's Grow

There is power in knowing what God says, and we want God's Word to become part of the way we talk. We do not pretend problems are not real, and we do not deny that we feel afraid. We identify what the thought is saying and find the truth that actually answers it. If the thought is “I'm all alone,” Isaiah 41:10 answers it: “I am with you.” If the thought is “Nobody loves me,” 1 John 4:19 answers it: “He first loved us.” As we learn more of God's Word, we build a stronger Truth Bank so the Holy Spirit can bring the right truth to our remembrance.

Think About It

Listen to what you say when you're worried. What is the thought actually saying? Are you repeating the fear? What does God's Word say about that specific thing?

Prayer

Father, thank You for giving us Your Word. Help us hide Your truth in our hearts so we can remember it when we need it. Holy Spirit, when a thought does not agree with Your Word, help us recognize what it is saying and remember the truth that answers it. Teach us not only to know Your Word, but to believe it, speak it, and live it. In Jesus' name, amen.

Kingdom Kids Declaration

I receive knowledge. I do not reject it or turn away from it. My heart is open to receive. My mind is ready to be renewed. Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me apply it to my life. Amen.

Now Let's Apply It!

Same story, same truth. Find your level.

  • Little Explorers

    Preschool–Kindergarten

Have a grown-up say: “You are all alone.” Answer: “God says He is with me!” Then: “Nobody loves you.” Answer with help: “God loved me first!” Practice learning that different wrong thoughts have different true answers.

  • Trail Adventurers

    Grades 1–2

Make two columns: LIE / GOD'S ANSWER. Write two thoughts. For each, choose a Scripture or biblical truth that actually answers that thought. Say the answers aloud.

  • Expedition Adventurers

    Grades 3–5

Choose three thoughts and build a mini Truth Bank. For each: What is the thought saying? Does it agree with God's Word? Which Scripture specifically addresses it? Speak that truth aloud and write one way you will live differently because you believe it.
